The album credits on Princes debut album say it all: Produced, arranged, composed, and performed by Prince. When Prince entered the studio to lay down the tracks on For You, the stakes were high. Not only was it a chance to prove himself to the world as a talented songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and singer but at only 19 years old, he was about to become the youngest artist in Warner Bros. history to produce his own album and record every part on it himself.

I had the cassette, but all the girls I knew in junior high or high school had the album because they were enamored by the brother from Minneapolis with the big Afro! Soft and Wet snatched me by my collar and had me eagerly awaiting it to be played on my favorite local radio station Which was actually owned by the Godfather of Soul James Brown himself!!! I meet Mr. Brown several times, awesome and interesting man. The foundation was laid with this album and the hose he was constructing was like nothing any of us had before. The quality of this reprint is awesome...it sounds fantastic. Eagerly awaiting to add more like it and any of his unreal\sed works. Thank you again Prince for penning the soundtrack to my adolescence and then some!

I'm replacing all of my OG copies with the reissues, and the beginning is the best place 2 start. The Sony reissues sound AWESOME. Thanks 4 getting it 2 me in fast fashion.
