Diamonds And Pearls is the thirteenth studio album by Prince, and was the first with his new backing band, The New Power Generation. Featuring six massive international singles, including the hits Gett Off,Cream, and the iconic title track, the album was a worldwide smash reaching multi-platinum status in the USA and the UK, where it remains his best-selling album.
Diamonds And Pearls was unveiled to the world on October 1, 1991, and it instantly had a huge commercial and cultural impact, becoming the biggest selling non-soundtrack album of Princes career. Over the past three decades, the reasons for its enormous success have been discussed extensively. Not least of these was Princes decision to finally engage with major television exposure and an extensive tour of Europe, Japan and his first trip to Australia. Jason JohnstonNovember 16, 2023Just in time too,I had to change the copy for one with less cosmetic damage prob from shipping but I was set right with a copy that arrived today, also shipped back the copy with the shrink wrap issue,I'm just a stickler for shrink wrap and hype stickers staying intact to protect the artwork. Just a beautiful translucent 180g vinyl! Can't say anything else but good stuff abt this album and its remastered quality!

Elliot NathansonNovember 8, 2023How is this album? I've had the CD for a better part of 30 yrs. It's definitely one of my desert island albums. I coincidentally went looking a few weeks ago to see if it ever got remastered only to find that the remastered version was due out shortly. My LPs showed up and I cannot stop listening to them. Sure the album is phenomenal, but the remastering is just as spectacular! Honestly, it was obvious how good it was going to be from the moment/echo of THUNDER! In short - OUTSTANDING! (I'm even tempted to buy a backup copy.)
