The Gold Experience was the first full-length Prince album to be credited to his unpronounceable symbol and was released at the most public, heated stage of his battle with the major label industrial complex.
With the word “SLAVE” written on one cheek, Prince shined on the opulent ballads “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” and “Gold” and the defiant single “Eye Hate U,” and the album earned widespread critical acclaim.
The Record Store Day re-release of The Gold Experience is an homage to the rare US-only promo version of the album that was released in 1995.
The 2LP set is pressed onto 140g translucent gold vinyl with a bonus suite of “Eye Hate U” remixes on Side D.

Ellis TraversoApril 25, 2023I love This Latest Work, a modern day masterpiece from his Royal Highest. As usual with any work of The Highest, songs well written with great music. It will go well with my collection of his Royal Badness. It is a pity he is not here for him to continue putting out more of this type of great and lovable music. I enjoyed every cut on this two disc gold LP, which was long overdue. Delivery arrived very quick and was packaged beautifully and safe from damage during transportation.

MasonAugust 24, 2022This album is great. I highly recommend it. But don't buy this album thinking that it's going to be a collector's item. There are lots and lots of copies to be had. Buy it for the music, and not for some big resale ideas.

j. mOBLEY'August 3, 2022Oh, where to begin...like most of his work I don't believe the masses realized how great a songwriter (Should have been in the song writers hall of fame years ago), composer, producer, musician or even vocalist. For me I think it was he was too good to be true and others were glorified for the few feats they could do musically. He never gave you the same meal twice. Being able to do so much they couldn't put a label on him really. This golden experience is proof that P was more that most could take in musically. What an offering of sounds to take one on a journey into these songs. Whoa.
