This Special Edition features the 2015 Paisley Park remastered audio pressed on 180g purple vinyl, available November 12 only through the official Prince Store and Minnesota-based retailer Target.
Released in the summer of 1984, Purple Rain is Prince’s most iconic album. It was the most commercially and culturally impactful release of his career, and coupled with the film of the same name, it influenced the fashion and sound of the rest of the 1980s.
By the end of 1985, Purple Rain had received two Grammys, three American Music Awards, two Brit Awards, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score, and the album remained at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for 24 weeks and in the top 10 for 32 weeks, selling over 25 million copies worldwide. It has since been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and has been added to the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress.

EchobabySeptember 18, 2023I just received my albums (yes I bought 2) and I just wanted to say I'm happy they're not damaged. Aside from the box looking like it was tampered with all my items were in tact. One of them is a birthday gift, she will be so shocked when she sees the vinyl is purple. Although I have a copy from years ago when it first came out I wanted a purple vinyl copy for myself.

One it was to celebrate it being what got me hooked on Prince. The second reason was i bought it for my own birthday present.

Eric LeongMay 19, 2022Vinyl is great! Shipping box could be better. I ordered 3 copies, they came in a large box that offered no protection for the vinyls when a corner of the box is dented - all 3 copies are also dented in the same corner.

I have decided that this album, even though so reasonably priced, deserves to be professionally framed so soon that's going to happen. I love it that much!

It's recaptured all of its glory from the original as I remember it. A really great pressing and addition to my re-growing collection.
