I bought this strictly for the Dolby Atmos mix and I am completely blown away by the instrument / speakers distribution of the mix. I would love it if the entire discography was released in Atmos!

What a great release! The new mix brings out details and emphasis on elements that make the songs seem freshly energetic and hearing the vocals and percussion without the standard Prince hard compression is very interesting. Ultimately it brings out more of the musicianship as the rhythms and chords are brought up (Prince tended to emphasis vocals, percussion embellishments, and the beat much more than supportive chord rhythms or instrument lines as part of his brand of sound, in my opinion). Sure it's not exactly the Prince brand sound anymore, but it really is all Prince and Band. Just a different mix that has more dynamic range, and is less simplified than the original mixes.
